Remarks owner: | This car has extensive 1957 racing history with James Deans friend Lew Bracker. It was the very first Carrera Speedster to be painted Black. Jeff Gamble, former owner of # 82833 was so kind to send the following history of the car he once owned; Sam Balsley purchased 82833GS Speedster with 4-cam engine from Vasek Polak in about 1968. Car color silver. No alloy panels, front oil cooler, GT brakes. Jeff Gamble of Tucson Arizona purchased from Sam Balsley in 1973. Stripped the body to find it dent on all corners. The car was metal finished with lead and was widened at the rear fenders. Painted black, beige leather interior, with black top. Installed 912 type engine. Frank Clemet of Vancouver Canada purchased the car in 1980. 4-cam engine rebuilt by Harry Weber and installed 1983. After Franz Clemet the car was sold to a Doctor in Pennslyvania in the 80\'s. Jeff would like to know the current whereabouts of his old car and share information with the current owner (e-mail me if you want to get in touch with him). This photo was taken at the 3rd 356 Registry Holiday in 1979 in Tuscon Arizona, where the car won its class. |
