Remarks owner: | Numbers matching car. Model for 1976 Harold James Cleworth Speedster poster. Car is restored to very high \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\outlaw\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" level (louvered decklid for Arizona heat, GT bumper trim, hand-hammered GT mirror. Has original solid floor, longitudinals, jack spurs, battery floor, excellent gaps. Only non-original sheet metal on entire car is 1\\\\\\\' x 2\\\\\\\' section of front driver\\\\\\\'s side floor, 4\\\\\\\" x 8\\\\\\\" section of battery floor, .75\\\\\\\" x 4\\\\\\\" section behind passenger side rear wheel and passenger side headlight bucket replaced in the 1970s. Had been repainted / reupholstered in 1976, but was \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"tired\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" in 2011 when began restoration. Original engine in garage, I built standard / standard 912 industrial engine with 90mm Nickies, Neutec SX-1 cam, chopped flywheel, 40mm Dellortos with horizontal spraybar update kits, Constas Sebring muffler. Installed Technomagnesio wheels, Wilhoit bullnose wheel bolts and 12mm spacers. Leather interior / top by Thomas Pocius in San Diego. Fast, fully sorted and stunning. First place trophy in Speedster class at the 2013 West Coast Holiday in Santa Fe."

Car is a very dry numbers matching California car, fully sorted, fast and tight w/ 145K original miles as verified by Peirona. 5.5" wheels, Wilhoit sway bar, 1720 912 engine (original engine on the shelf) with slightly longer cam, 40mm Dellorto carburetors, original Abarth peashooter muffler, chopped flywheel, Don Marks 022, etc.
Car went into restoration the day before Thanksgiving 2011. Some GT details planned. |
