Remarks owner: | This car was originally ordered by Sam Weiss (an RSK racer and owner of Oxford Motors) in Sacramento, California. He ordered the car for a client but this guy backed out after discovering the car had no sound proofing and no heating. The car was originally Ivory with an Oatmeal interior and an Ivory rollbar. That same year, 1959, Mr. Len Cheney traded a 1958 MG A and $3200 for this Speedster. It was not owned for long by Mr. Cheney who sold it in original condition to Lou Beckwith. Jim Perrin looked at it after Beckwith had owned it for a few years; Beckwith had decided to sell it and was still in nice shape, athough it was not running, with the engine in a box. Bruce Anderson put Ron Zimmerman in touch with Beckwith and Mr. Zimmerman purchased the car for $3,500.00 in the arly 1970\'s. After several years, it was sold again in pristine condition, both inside and out with only 13,000 miles. to Don Orosco. The engine was still in a box but all there, only needing re-assembling. Don Orosco of Pebble Beach paid $7,500.00 for it at the time in 1973 or 1974. Later it was sold to Sam Foster of Danville, Mass, who brought it to Monterey in \'82. The car had a big headrest add-on. If you know where the car is now, please let me know as Mr. Cheney wants to know the whereabouts of his old car. |
