| Remarks owner: | This Carrera Speedster is in Venezuela and is owned by Jose Rafael Bermudez. He bought the car from Lorenzo Centeno in 1998. Mr. Centeno provided the information about this car. Initially, the car was a factory racing car for Harry Schell, with a special 1500cc engine. Harry Schell ran the car at the 1959 Tour the France, with Mauro Bianchi. The engine caught fire and was rebuild at the the factory with more power. Later the car was bought by Armando D\' Ambrogio in Venezuela who ran it in national and international races in Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and Puerto Rico until 1962. From 1963 through 1968, it was used in many local races with different drivers, then the car was sold, and was lost for many years. Mr. Centeno bought it in 1992. He restored the car to its current condition. |
