Remarks owner: | This Speedster GT received a pushrod engine when it was produced in 1959. The original color was rubinrot. The first owner was Hans Kramer from Hamburg, Germany. 83723 was the original pushrod engine, but it was replaced in 1969. Between the first and the last European owner, the car changed hands regularly; from Alexander Guth from Hattingen, Germany in 1960 to Joachim Bömer (sp?) from Bochum, Germany in 1961 to Horst Kirchmeier from Bochum, Germany in 1962 to Hans Langen, from Bochum, Germany in 1967 to Helmut Müller from Freiburg, Germany in 1968 and later to Dr. Wussler, Germany. From then on it was kept in a barn for many years before being bought by Kees Neering from Köln, Germany. He had the GT Speedster restored by Armin Baumann in Switzeland before he sold it to the the last European owner Mr. Janos Szarvadi from Longueville, Belgium. He sold it in 1989 to Frank Gallogly from Englewood, NJ. This was the description when the Speedster was auctioned at Monterey in August 1999; \Fair older repaint, worn older interior, cracked windshield, stone chipped nose. Looks sound and useable.\" It was up for auction again at the 2002 Monterey Sports Car Auction in August but didn\'t sell at a high bid of $115.000. It was later sold through European Collectibles to Jack Logan in Switzerland." |
